From The Holy Quran

This is the Book in which there is no doubt. It is a guide for those who are God-conscious, who believe in the unseen, who establish prayer and spend in charity out of what We have provided for their sustenance; and who believe in this revelation (the Quran) that is sent to you (O Muhammad) and the revelations that were sent before you, and firmly believe in the Hereafter. They are on true guidance from their Lord, and they are the ones who will attain salvation." (2:2-5)

From Hadith

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) who said: The Messenger of Allah (saw), said: "Look upon one who is below you in status and do not look upon one who is above you in status. In this way you will not look down upon the grace that Allah has bestowed upon you." (Bukhari/Muslim)

Imam Lela's Haj Group

Insha Allah this year Imam Aly is leading a group for Hajj. In this regard Imam Lela is working with Darussalam. The group will consist of 40 people so that it will have its own bus for the trip. Currently 28 people have signed in and only 12 seats are available. If you are interested in joining Imam Lela’s Haj group please contact him at your earliest at alylela@yahoo.com

Iqamah is 10 minutes after Adhaan except for Maghrib

Juma Prayers: First salaat 1:45, second salaat 3:30
Salaat. Dhuhr is at 1:45 pm on Sundays only.
Tahajud Salaat: 2nd Sunday of each month, 2 hours before Fajr
Iqamah is 10 minutes after Adhan.
For Eid Salah timings, please call 248-852-5657.The web will also be updated regularly
Do not follow this schedule for Sahur and Iftar, use the other schedule to determine whether salah is Adaa or Qadaa.
Tafseer every Friday 8:00 pm.
No alterations to the above without consulting the Imams.
Use a separate schedule for Ramadan.

* Day-light savings time ends last week of October.

This timetable is for the actual Adhaan timings in the IAGD masjid and it is not to be used as the exact timeslot of start or end of the Salat times.

Teacher’s Wanted

Sunday Islamic School has finalized a new curriculum for Grades 1 through 4, for the year 2008-09. In order to implement the new curriculum we are looking for new teachers for the next academic year starting in fall of 2008. We are seeking people who are excited about helping young children become better Muslims. Teachers will be expected to commit every Sunday without fail and wholeheartedly support the school in implementing its curriculum, policies and goals. They will be expected to make Sunday school a fun-filled learning experience. Both paid and volunteer opportunities are available.
If you are someone with plenty of patience and a sense of commitment to children, and would like to join us, please email your resume at iagdsis@iagd.net and plan to attend the mandatory Teacher Training Seminar and Workshop at IAGD on June 14th and 15th (details to follow).
