Marketing Director

The Marketing Director leads IAGD’s marketing strategy and execution to strengthen the organization’s visibility, engagement, and brand recognition across all digital and in-person channels. This role oversees content creation, advertising, social media management, and brand development—ensuring consistent, high-quality communication that reflects IAGD’s mission and values. The Marketing Director plays a central role in managing the organization’s presence and community engagement across physical and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation

Direct the production of engaging and visually cohesive materials, including graphics, videos, written content, and digital assets. Ensure all content aligns with brand standards, messaging goals, and target audience expectations.

Advertising & Platform Management

Plan, execute, and evaluate online and offline advertising initiatives to expand reach and engagement. Manage and develop IAGD’s social media and digital platforms to maintain consistent communication, track engagement, and ensure brand alignment.

Brand Development

Establish and maintain a consistent and recognizable brand identity. Develop guidelines, storytelling strategies, and communication frameworks that reinforce IAGD’s mission, credibility, and community presence.

Working Hours

This is a part-time position, requiring approximately 8 hours per week. Hours may vary based on project needs, event schedules, and campaign cycles. The role allows flexibility, with a combination of remote coordination and occasional in-person collaboration for local initiatives or events.

Reporting Structure

The Marketing Director reports to the Marketing Committee Chair, who reports to the Board of Directors. This structure ensures alignment between marketing objectives and organizational strategy, while maintaining oversight and accountability.

Evaluation & Performance Metrics

The Marketing Director’s performance will be evaluated quarterly, focusing on measurable impact, execution quality, and alignment with IAGD’s mission and goals.

  • Digital Platforms & Engagement: Growth in followers, reach, engagement rate, and content consistency across platforms.
  • Content Output: Timely production of high-quality graphics, videos, and posts following the content calendar.
  • Brand Cohesion: Consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all channels.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Effectiveness in coordinating with the board of directors and developing an internal team.

The review process will consist of monthly reports, quarterly reviews and yearly evaluations

Revenue & Return on Investment

The marketing strategy is designed to strengthen IAGD’s visibility while creating pathways for sustainable revenue growth. Through strategic branding, digital engagement, and community outreach, marketing efforts will directly contribute to both short-term income opportunities and long-term financial resilience.

  • Sponsorships & Partnerships: Collaborate with local businesses through sponsorships, branded content, and event partnerships while expanding digital reach and media visibility.
  • Merchandise Sales: Develop and sell branded merchandise to enhance visibility and generate additional revenue.
  • Donations & Memberships: Drive online and recurring donations through promoting streamlined giving platforms and grow membership participation to sustain long-term support.
  • Event Promotion: Increase attendance and participation in community programs and fundraisers to strengthen engagement and donation outcomes.
Note: Developing a structured revenue workflow to manage and optimize these income streams will require time and phased implementation. This will be pursued as a later-stage development, once foundational systems for branding, content, and analytics are in place.

Proposed Implementation Approach

To balance cost efficiency with quality, IAGD should adopt a hybrid marketing model, combining outsourced technical expertise with locally led initiatives.

Outsourced (International Agencies / Specialists)

  • Content creation: graphics, video editing, and digital design
  • Advertising: paid campaigns and performance optimization
  • Brand development
  • Analytics: data tracking, reporting, and performance insights
  • Website development and maintenance

Local (On-Site Teams)

  • Event coverage: photography, videography, and live content
  • Community outreach and local engagement initiatives

This approach ensures low cost, quality, scalability and maintainability, through strategic control under the Marketing Director’s oversight. Additionally, this significantly reduces the number of volunteers that require exhaustive technical training, and can be hard to replace.
